Q: Does it need to be sealed for a kitchen backsplash? If so does it need to be sealed prior to installation as well as after grouting?
A: After the stone is installed, and grouted, seal the stone with an appropriate high quality breathable stone sealer, to minimize water absorption, efflorescence, and potential staining. We recommend our polished sealer for polished stone. If necessary, a color enhancer may be applied to bring out the true color of the stone at any time after grouting. Follow sealer manufacturer's installation instructions. Reseal tile when the stone gets darker or as needed.A: I used my tile on my shower floor. I absolutely love it! :)
I did not seal it prior to putting it in. I did seal it after it was installed. I was told to reseal every 3-6 months.A: I used this tile in a powder room. For a kitchen I would seal the tile after it has been installed. I would not use an enhancing sealer. Hope that helps!A: Yes and yes. Since it is natural stone, if it is not sealed it will show water marks even from a damp toweling off. We even had to reapply sealer a couple of years later. It is worth it though! It is beautiful tile! -
Q: What is the thickness of the tile?
A: 10mmA: We no longer live in that home yet the tile is beautiful. You can order a sample -
Q: Does this tile need to be sealed when using as a shower floor?
A: Yes, because it is natural stone. The material is very porous and must be sealed in order to prevent staining and discoloration. -
Q: Can it be installed in showers?
A: Yes, this tile can be installed in showers.

We LOVE our tile choice and the quality of this Blue Macaba!!! I was so glad I ordered the sample because it is a shade darker than it appears on the website, which is something I appreciated. Getting the free and cheap tile samples was a huge help in order to decide what best fit our remodel. I would def order from Tile Bar again!

This stone is beautiful. There is some variation in coloring as with any natural stone but the sheets came well matched together in a rather large quantity. The color online is a bit deceiving. Definitely order the sample if you are on the fence. In person the colors in the stone range from a deep purple blue to gray to light sky blue. Some even have gold - yellow marbling. The packaging was great and all arrived quickly with no damage. Considering buying more for another fireplace. Very satisfied!

The look and feel of this stone is amazing!
I love the look and feel of natural stone and Macauba blue was my go to tile!
When I say it online and in I?m my favorite color (blue) I knew I had to get it.
Unfortunately the color I received was not the blue I saw online, it was more of a gray. I realize sometimes the dye lot may vary due to it being a natural stone. I decided I would keep it! I am very happy with it. I love the feel and look of the tile! It was well worth it! -

Blue Mac Roulette
Lovely, lovely stone. Highly variable; some are mostly amazing blues, some are mostly drab grays. Be aware of that risk if you purchase. Has a luminous quality, sometimes has hints of yellow. Tilebar is a good option for this stone because can buy a piece or two at a time. Blue Mac is generally hard to find. The only other vendor I've found prices it at over $90 a square.

Absolutely
I use my beautiful tiles from you as arts and crafts for myself during this horrible virus. Thing is, when Covid 19 comes to its end, I have been lucky to have a comforting, very special hobby. Thank you so very much. I am 73 years old and at my age new hobbies are a gift and a blessing?? Again, thank you??

Great tile order experience
The product is beautiful and I cannot wait to get it installed in my master bathroom! I am using it for trim and I did not know which tile style to use for trim. Being able to order samples at a reasonable rate helped me decide easily when I was able to lay the options side-by-side. I will certainly be happy with the selection.
