Q: What do I use to clean the whistler slalom tile in my shower?

Q: What is the water absorption rating for this Whistler Slalom tile?
A: Hi! Water absorption is > 10 %. This can be used in wet areas, we will recommend sealing the tile after installed.A: I am not sure what the exact number is, but if your question is related to whether you can put in on a wall in a wet area, the answer is yes. Of course the installer needs to waterproof the substrate as it is always done with wet areas. -
Q: What did you use for edging on this 3D tile? Can you post pictures? Also, any advice for installing outlet covers in it? We're using it as a kitchen backsplash.
A: We don't have a corresponding trim piece for this collection at this time. You can try adding a contrasting color from another collection. Browse all of our trim pieces here which include metal edging strips: https://tilebar.com/collection/trim-pieces.html
Alternatively, you can line the tile with a clean caulk line that matches the color of the grout.
In terms of outlets, we would suggest using silicon caulking around the 3D areas. -

A: This material is not sold in a matte finish. -

Q: I like the shape/style a lot, but am a littke concerned about the texture, will it be difficult to keep clean in a shower area? Thanks
A: This tile cleans very easily! The ridges/texture pose no problems at all.A: I used it as a backsplash, it’s smooth and easy to clean. I wouldn’t use it to walk on but for walls I think it would be great.A: We installed it a few months ago and we generally just wash it down after a shower or use a mild cleaner when needed. It’s beautiful if installed correctly. Make sure you get a great tile guy.A: I used this tile in my kitchen. It is sleek and does not hold onto dirt. It cleans up easily - I use a scrub sponge and mild soap. Like Esther T. the tile is gorgeous - as in compliments!A: We used this tile in our master bathroom shower and it is not hard to keep clean. The fact that it is so large means there are less grout lines which means it's easier to keep clean. The texture doesn't make it hard to keep clean, it's also very beautiful!A: It’s very easy to maintain and keep clean. I installed the tile behind my stove. -
Q: Can this be used around a fireplace?
A: This material is suitable for fireplace surround, however this can not be installed within the hearth. -
Q: Would you be able to hang shelves on this ( looking at putting rough edge wood shelves up on this)? This would be a backsplash feature wall behind a sink
A: This material is 3D, so there would be spacing between the shelving and tile. -
Q: is there a large format flat tile that this can pair with -- want a flat surface for wall of shower?
A: You can definitely pair this with the Whistler Tokum or Whistler Couloir.

Perfect and Calming
These tiles are beautiful!! I searched so many styles and came across these. I wanted a very relaxing, spa feel. I was worried the site was fake but ordered a sample. The sample for these was more to see the design rather than see them in your space but I knew they were what I wanted. I ordered and they did not disapoint. Be gentle as the edges are super delicate and they chip very easily. They turned out exactly like my vision when I said I wanted 3d waves behind my tub!! I could not be happier!! Highly recommend.

Wavy tile FTW
Really loved this tile, took a while getting project together but installed two weeks ago. Took the suggestions from comments here like using avalanche Mapei color which was on point. It is easy to clean as mentioned. I was originally planning on vertical for waterfall effect and ease of cleaning, but decided on horizontal in the end for glass tile symmetry, but wall corners were a challenge esp if walls not fully plumbed. But found really helpful YouTube video for it.

Great tiles iffy customer service
This tile is beautiful and looks great in my bathroom remodel. Shipping took some time so plan ahead. It was in good condition when delivered and looks just like the sample. I love the light texture that keeps this tile from looking too simple. Just be aware that while I?d give the actual tile 5 stars but tilebar?s customer service is only getting two at the moment. Be aware that if you have any issues with the tile it is unlikely they will get back to you in a timely manner and I?m having issues with another tile I purchased from them.
