Frequently Asked
Questions

Do you recommend ordering extra tile for projects? plus img minus img

Yes. We recommend ordering 10% to 15% extra to account for cuts, edge finishing, or for potential breakage during installation or with future use.

What's the difference between rectified and nominal size? plus img minus img

Nominal size is used for identification and may not match actual dimensions, while rectified size is tile that has been cut to have even edges and a precise size.

What's the difference between porcelain and ceramic? plus img minus img

Porcelain is a type of ceramic, pressed at higher pressure for a denser, more durable, waterproof tile suitable even outdoors. Ceramic is pressed at lower pressure, is water resistant but not recommended for outdoor or heavy commercial use. Both are kiln-fired at high temperatures.

Where can I install my tile? Is it suitable for outdoor use? plus img minus img

Specifications are listed on each product page under "Specifications" — consult that section for explicit guidance on where the tile can be used.

Does my tile need to be sealed? plus img minus img

Most glazed ceramic or porcelain tiles do not need sealing. If your grout requires a sealer, sealing the tile too won't hurt and may help with maintenance. Stone, cement, or terrazzo tiles always need to be sealed — before grouting and again after grout cures.

Do you offer installation services? plus img minus img

No. To find a professional installer, ask neighbors/friends for recommendations or check provider reviews on Google, Yelp, etc.

When will my order ship? plus img minus img

Most orders are processed and shipped within 2-5 business days. A shipment confirmation email with tracking is sent once it ships; tracking may take 48-72 hours to activate. Order status can be checked via My Account or Track My Order in the website footer.

How will my tile be delivered? plus img minus img

Smaller tiles/quantities (typically under 75 sq ft and/or tiles smaller than 24"x24") ship via UPS small parcel, no appointment needed. Larger tiles/quantities (typically over 75 sq ft and/or 24"x24" or greater) ship via freight carrier on a pallet for curbside delivery; the carrier calls to schedule an appointment once it reaches the destination terminal.

How do I track my order? plus img minus img

Once you receive a shipment confirmation email, click Track My Order in the website footer. Tracking info may take 48-72 hours to become available depending on the carrier.
