Q: Can this tile be installed in herringbone style as backsplash? Any feedback on someone who has installed it?

Q: What are the sizes that this glass tile comes in?
A: The Loft Adriatic Mist comes in this 2x8 as well as penny rounds at this time. It also comes in a pencil liner. -
Q: Do you have to use white grout?
A: No, but we tried several samples of different colors with it and the white does make it pop.A: the white grout really made the blue-green pop! I used a very thin grout line.A: A white grout (or very light grey) would look best. Grout joint should be between 1/16"-1/8" wide. The tiles are individual 1 7/8" x 7 3/4" x 1/4" thick glass tiles and the edges are not perfectly flat, but slightly rounded, so they should be grouted.A: We chose to use white unsanded grout because these were inserted between white subway tile and we wanted to maintain the white color.A: We used glass grout. Bostick Dimension Grout in Diamond. Looks fantastic - gives a more translucent effect than solid grout.A: I used white grout but you could choose any color grout that would fit your decor.A: I used white grout with that tile in my bathroom and thought it worked great. if you are trying to match the grout with the tile for a slick look, then you might want to use larger tiles. I will try to post some pictures.A: We used an light-gray/stone color grout for ours, and we've received many compliments on our backsplash.A: No. You can use any color grout but you should always install glass with white thinset mortar. -
Q: What size spacers should be used if any. Picture looks very close set...what about getting grout into space?
A: We suggest a 1/8th-1/16th" groutline.A: Our tiles were installed by a professional and I honestly don't remember if he used spacers. They are installed within large white subway tiles and all seem very close together. He did do some kind of grouting. The glass tiles called for unsanded grout and that is what he used.A: I would recommend 1/16" spacers minimum and 1/8" maximum. The tiles are each separate pieces, so they can be spaced as you like.A: We just used the average-sized spacers and grey grout. We also "stacked" them (not a typical "brick lay" placement). It looks cool and modern. I have zero regret about doing it that way and we've received many compliments!

Not as white as anticipated
I installed this in a stacked pattern as my backsplash. The color is disappointing though. The back of the tile is painted a bright white but when installed it does not look bright white. You have to consider that it's glass and most glass products inherently have a green tint that, unfortunately, overrides the white backing. Based on the photos, I was anticipating tile that reads as white but it's more of a light green. Still it's a very clean, modern look.
