What is Nanoglass Tile?
Nanoglass tile is a crystalized glass surface that is as durable as granite but also stainproof, making it incredibly easy to maintain. Its strength comes from the manufacturing process of sintering. Powdered materials such as silica, marble, and other natural materials are compressed and heated for an extended period of time, fusing together to form an incredibly strong and impermeable crystalline surface. In the case of our Nanoglass White Collection, we have also fused this surface to create added strength and versatility in installation.

Q: Can this be used for a shower wall? I am looking for a white subway tile that would work well with a hexagonal carerra marble white/grey floor for my shower. Any suggestions? Thank you?
A: This tile is gorgeous!!! Yes you can use it for a shower wall...order a sample that's what I did...I used it in my kitchen for the backsplash...fabulous...different from your ordinary subway tile...but very subtle! I think it would look great with your marble floor!A: Yes, this tile works perfectly in the shower and looks great with white marble.A: They are stunning as my shower walls. I also used them as my kitchen backsplash. I LOVE these tiles. -
Q: I want to use this for my kitchen backsplash...do you have 1/4 round or any finish pieces for the ends?
A: Chrissy, I used 1/2 inch Schluter Bullnose Tile Edging Trim to finish my shower edges and niche. I'm going to do the same thing for our kitchen backsplash as we're using the tile again, too. Hope this helps.A: We used a simple Schluter trim to finish off the edge, it can come in white or metal finish to match your appliances.A: No finish pieces. You have to use Schluter Jolly metal trim.A: I had asked the same question. They do not have those pieces. Q: What's the minimum grout line for these tiles? I'm looking for an old fashioned subway tile with a pencil thin grout line. Thanks!
A: 1/16" minimum. -
Q: What kind of mortar would work best with this tile? Using at as a kitchen backsplash... Also using w/ the citadel satin mosaic, will that take similar mortar or is a specific type needed for that?
A: Hope this helps.A: For my project with this tile I used Bostik Ditraset which is an unmodified mortar thinset. The substrate that this tile was installed on was Schluter Kerdi Board. Schluter is adamant on using unmodified thinset for any tile installed on Kerdi Board. In your situation whether tile is installed on drywall or cement backer I would recommend the same product or type of thinset. Not familiar with the mosaic tile you are speaking of but if it happens to be anything but glass use the same thinset. If its glass then you will want to use a modified mortar to ensure a strong bond. Lastly you will love these tile. My project is a shower surround (still in progress) and so far it looks amazing. -

Q: would these be suitable for outdoor, like as pool waterline tile?
A: For the waterline, yes. Not for the floor. It'd be too slippery if used on the floor. -
Q: Would this coordinate with Aurora flower mosaic tile?
A: The two would go beautifully together! With that said, it is recommended to get a sample of both before purchasing, just to get a feel for how the two would go together in the specific environment you intend to apply them in. -
Q: Can you use this without grout lines, in other words butt them up against each other?
A: I would not recommend it. Butting them together can cause damage. -
Q: How thick is the tile?
A: 11.5 mm thick.A: 7/16 inch. I just now measured with THIS 3X6 TILE IN MY HAND AND WITH AN ACCURATE TAPE MEASURE.

Beautiful, but difficult.
This is a great looking tile. It has a glossy sheen and reflects light. Super easy to clean and very durable. I've used a few times in a bathroom remodels. However, I would not use unless you are taking it up the entire wall and wall to wall. This tile does not come with any trim pieces. AND it has a unique depth which makes it incompatible with Schluter metal trims. And it's difficult to match because it's glass. It has a Thassos marble look so I needed up using marble trims that match closely, but not exactly.

Unwanted Reflection
I loved the stark whiteness of this tile in the photos and in the sample I got. I used the Nanoglass tiles in the shower and put a border of small glass turquoise tiles around the top. Evidently the Nano tiles are reflecting the turquoise as they now all have a dingy blue look. Not the look I wanted. The tub is not reflecting the turquoise, just the tiles. I was most disappointed.
