  • Q: Is hibiscus pinkie?

A: Please reach out to us at [email protected], and we'll be glad to verify this information for you.

    TileBar C.

  • Q: What color grout is used in the photos where the Seaport Hibiscus tile is laid horizontally? (White? Off white? Specific shade of white or gray?) Thank you.

A: Please reach out to us at [email protected], and we'll be glad to verify this information for you.

    TileBar C.

  • Q: Any suggestions for tile on shower floor and bathroom floor with Seaport Hibiscus Gray or Seaport Chameleon on shower walls?

A: There are a myriad of tiles that can go with our Seaport Hibiscus! We suggest using our View 360 to virtually install tiles with the Seaport Hibiscus. We also offer Free Design Services. Our team is happy to help choose the best tile for your bathroom.

    TileBar C.

A: Tile Bar has a wonderful terrazzo that looks great with the Seaport tiles!

    Meryl S.

  • Q: How do you get the silicone or glue off of each tile?

A: The wax is put on the face of the tiles by our vendor to prevent the tiles from rubbing together and scratching during transit. If you already tried peeling the wax off, it should easily come off if you run an ice cube across the wax and scrape the wax gently with a credit card or any type of plastic card. You can even try leaving it in a cold area and the wax will come right off.

    Ayelet R.

    A: Comes off upon grouting

    Janet F.

A: The glue just flakes off. It's there to protect the finish of the tile in packaging, but will pop off with your fingernail

    Bryan M.

  • Q: How big of a grout line is between this tile when you select this color up above?

A: We used a 1/16” grout line. The grout color matches the tile color and looks great!

    Janet B.

A: We did 1/8" and the grout blends beautifully with the contour of the tile edges. The look is absolutely stunning!!

    James A.

A: We did 1/8” that looks fantastic. This tile is stunning. The photo has slightly wider, it looks like. There is such great movement on the tile surface you wouldn’t want to break it up with huge grout lines IMO.

    MM B.

  • Q: What size spacing is used in the pictures that accompany this product's sales page?

    A: 1/8”. Love it.

    John W.

A: I have no idea - why would you ask this? Maybe 3/16 inches? All depends on your preference

    Jerry V.

  • Q: What spacing did you use when installing the tile? Has anyone installed with no spacers?

A: We used 1/16" spacers (green half round). As was mentioned, its not technically need since these tiles have a raised edge that gives you some natural spacing, but that would give a really thin grout time. If you go with spaces, make sure you lay out the tiles under the cabinet to see where it will land. I had to trim the long side of the tiles to fit under the cabinets, since adding 1/16 to each space added up... Ours came out great!!

    Josef S.

A: We just ordered the tile in the past couple weeks and have yet to install the tile. We are planning to keep the grout line thin at about 1/8" or 3/16".

    Bryan M.

A: We did not use spacers because the edging provides a natural buffer. Looks great with a slightly darker grey grout!

    Sarah B.

A: We’re using 2mm spacers. That’s dictated by trying to make the ranks cone out just right in the space. If you used no spacers ypu’d have some really thin grout lines. I think it might look nice, but I can’t say whether the grout would hold well.

    Emily M.

A: We used the 1/8 spacer but we wish we would have done it without spacers. Just use a square to make sure they are totally straight.

    Brooke S.

A: We used small round green spacers, tiles are weighty and we felt needed the support spacers gave. It did not detract from the handmade look of the tiles.

    Carolyn K W.

A: We used 1/16th spacers and love the way it looks.

    Jennifer G.

A: we used 1/8" spacer, turned out really nice, looks similar to TileBar's online example

    John S.

  • Q: Seaport hibiscus. Is this a white tile, grayish or cream?

A: This tile is so beautiful used it in our remodeled kitchen to the ceiling. It looked almost taupe laying down but vertical on the wall it is a beautiful lt Grey. I think it might change depending on what it is near. I would try a few in the light space where using

    Rachel S.

A: It’s kinda a mix of a soft white with grey blended edges

    Tamra J.

    A: Creamy gray. Greige.

    MM B.

A: Gray. Additional information on this tile can be found under the "SPECS" and "INSTALLATION" tabs.

    Shaunda B.

A: It is grey with a little beige undertone. It is absolutely gorgeous, one of my favorite elements of our kitchen.

    Natasha K.

A: It's a light gray with a warm taupe undertone. The warm taupe undertone gives it a softer look.

    Robert G.

    A: Grayish.

    John W.

A: It's a pale grey. It is absolutely beautiful installed. I just put it in a client's house.

    Marianne Z.

A: This tile has a warm taupe/grey tone. There is a slight pink/purple quality to the color but it doesn’t come across as pink.

    Matthew Z.

    A: Hi Mary,
It’s a lovely warm, light gray ... definitely not white or cream.
    It’s a beautiful color.

    Tara M.

A: I have an entire backsplash of this tile. It is similar to a light taupe...maybe a little tanner and no pink. Maybe like a very light greyish tan? I hope that helps. I put a medium gray grout with it and it has an industrial/rustic look to it.

    Christopher R.

A: Hi Mary, I purchased this tile for my kitchen backsplash at our seaside cottage. We have lots of soft, warm grays and this tile was perfect. It has a blend of gray and creamy white, I would say. Love the variation in the tile, and they look hand-made.

    Karen A.

    A: Hi Mary,
I’ve installed this tile in two of my bathrooms and I would say it is grayish in color. I paired it with black floor tiles and gray, white and black bathroom accents. Hope this helps.

    Amy G.

A: I would say gray. I have cream colored counter tops and gray on my walls and granite that has grey in it and it blends well with all of it.

    Jennifer G.

A: I paired this tile with more of a warmer taupe gray palette....not a cool blue gray.
it can go with white and cream.....

    HOLLY R.

    A: It's Very Gray

    Lauren H.

    A: It's a very light gray.

  • ★★★★★ Seaport Gray and Chameleons-excellent tile

We selected the Seaport Hibiscus Gray and Chameleon for our backsplash. The quality of the tile is excellent, very well made. Excellent color coverage, with a finished end that looks great. They cut easily, look fantastic in the brick style we chose to design our kitchen in. We would recommend the tile. Shipping was efficient, but we had many tiles broken on delivery. They were securely packaged with a lot of padding, but many were still broken. Tile bar customer service took care of the issues and a long call to UPS solved the poor delivery service.

  • ★★★★★ Perfect gray/beige color

Well packaged! I was looking for a tile color that was "greige" and I am so happy with this purchase.

    Sarah G.

  • ★★★★★ Sophisticated look (with some dark polka-dotted shadows) high gloss finish and a dimpled/wavy front face for texture and a handmade look.

Ordered Hibiscus for our kitchen backsplash to use in herringbone pattern. I loved the soft tones of the color online to go with our white quartz (gray veining) counters, matte white Ikea cabinetry and our matte white Cafe appliances with bronze pulls. We painted walls Natural Linen by Sherwin Williams and hibiscus matches and gives a sophisticated look to the room. The packaging ?? was great, only 2 tiles broke in transit. (We ordered 8 boxes.)
The only disappointment has been the dark painted splotches. ?? I wish there wasn't 3 different style tiles in each box (see attached photos for an example) and wish they were just identical without the darker spots painted on!! You have to be very careful with layout making sure you alternate/flip/separate tiles which makes project more time consuming, with an already laborious task in herringbone layout. Of course, my favorite tile that is the most subtle and monochromatic has the fewest number included and the most obnoxious tiles with a dark spot right in the middle has the most number included in each box. I will be wasting most of the material leaving those ones out.
Had I realized this prior, I may have selected a plain white tile without any other tones in it to simplify the process. Beware of the polka-dots!!!
