Q: I am hoping to use it on a kitchen counter and backsplash. Are rounded edge or corner tiles available?

Q: Regarding the Deco Marla, four tiles come together to make the design. Since it's 8x8, two stacked tiles are not tall enough to fill the standard 18" backsplash area--with grout, it still leaves a gap of about 1.25" under the cabinet. Did anyone else have to work around this problem? Is there a 1.25" bullnose or tile trim that matches this one?
A: We installed the tile at a diagonal, the pattern looks better we think and there is no fit issueA: I had my installers cut the tile to fill in any areas and it looked fineA: I had my installer cut the tile to fill in any areas and it looked greatA: This collection does not come with it's own trim but you can try any of our metal trims!A: Hello,we just used a schluter that matched the background of the tile.A: I used it on the floor. My suggestion is to make sure you use a full tile next to the counter, as that is your line of vision more.
Option one: use a trim piece along the counter, it will be seen more. Option two, use a pencil liner trim piece going along the top under the upper cabinet. This will present well as it can meet the same pencil trim on the side of the splash going down to the counter. I would choose option two. A dark blue glass pencil trim will coordinate well, or a dark blue ceramic trim piece. Dont forget the grout line may take up the .25” part. Ask your installer what the actual size needs to be after grout lines. -
Q: Can this be used outside in an outdoor bar?
A: Yes! This can be installed outdoors.A: I think you could, but I'd check with the manufacturer as well. Jonathan Scott and Zoey Deschanel seemed to have the same tile for their outdoor BBQ area when I watched a reveal of their home, but a check with the manufacturer is best!A: I think you need to ask the manufacturer. -
Q: Is this safe fir shower floor slip resistant ?
A: According to the specification on the product page, this material has the following suitable installation areas; Backsplash, Floor Tile, Kitchen Floor, Kitchen Wall, Wall Tile, Bathroom Floor, Bathroom Wall, Shower Wall, Shower Floor, Outdoor Wall, Commercial FloorA: I used it on the floor in my bathroom and not in the shower. However, it is not a slippery surface like a marble or quartz. I think it would be fine in a shower and is more porous. I suggest getting a sample just to ensure the thickness is appropriate to use in the shower and can be fully saturated with water. -
Q: since it's a matte tile, is it easy to clean? I'm planning to use it in the laundry room which is the garage entryway as well
A: Porcelain tile is resistant to germs and bacteria and it is also among the easiest of flooring materials to clean. You can clean your porcelain tile with a damp sponge mop. A solution of 1/4 cup of white vinegar to 2 gallons of water works best – allow time for drying. You can also sweep or vacuum. Although porcelain tile is by definition impervious, it is still possible for its surface to discolor. The following instructions explain how to clean porcelain tile surfaces.
For cleaning unpolished surfaces, follow these instructions:
Sweep or vacuum dust and debris from the floor. When sweeping, use a soft-bristle broom and sweep in 2 directions. First follow the direction of the tile, and then sweep diagonally. This will ensure the removal of all foreign material that might be residing in the texture.
Saturate the tile with a neutral cleaning solution, such as vinegar, with hot water and stir. Allow the cleaning solution to remain on the floor 5 – 10 minutes. Scrub the floor with a brush; again using a two-direction method.
Rinse the floor with clean, clear water to remove the cleaning solution.
For high traffic locations, it is recommended to clean the floor at least once per day and wet mop at regular intervals.
Always Remember:
Do not clean tile flooring with ammonia or with cleaners that contain bleach and/or acid. Acid and ammonia based cleaners may modify grout color.
Do not use wax, oil-based, abrasive cleaners, or sealants.
Agents that contain any dyes or colors are not recommended.
Use rugs at entrances to prevent dirt and grit from being tracked onto the tile flooring from outdoors.
Do not use steel wool pads, because loose steel particles may create rust stains in the grout.A: I installed this tile in the bathroom and hallway of my commercial building which is still under a major construction remodel. It washes up beautifully and does mask grime and dirt in between cleanings. I used the color RAIN in the Mapei flexcolor grout series so it would age nicely and not look dirty.A: we installed it on the bathroom floor,

A: I never got the chance to use this beautiful tile because most of the tiles arrived broken due to poor packaging .A: Yes, and i use the mapei avalanche, which is pure white. A happy tileA: Absolutely! I put it in my laundry room which is also the entry point from the garage. It's such a happy tile that will greet me when I come home. I'm also hoping it will help me when I'm doing laundry, one of my least favorite chores. 🙂
Also, I was originally thinking a white grout, but in my space, that looked like it would draw attention to the grout instead of the tile. I ultimately went with Mapei's Rain which blends in more and allows the focus to remain on the tile.
