Q: Can I use this on a facet of a fireplace?
-
Q: I understand that it is not for the water because it darkens? Â How does it darken and how fast? Is there something I maybe able to apply over this for pool application. Â A similar product for a pool?
A: Mother of pearl should not be used in submergible water as it makes the material darken, that in conjunction with chemicals from the pool would speed this up immensely. This material is not suitable or suggested for pool installation. -
Q: ?The installation instructions refer to glass tile. Can you be more spacific about cutting this pebble shell tile.
A: I just cut the back mesh - not the actual pieces of shell. You can pull some off to add or subtract to areas as needed.A: Cut the edges of the tile with glass tile nippers or a wet saw to ensure a perfect fit. For installing pearl tile around outlets, cut the mesh with scissors. It should be easy to cut around the outlets because the pearl tiles are so thin. -
Q: is this tile good for a kitchen backsplash?
A: *thick not think... sorry!A: It may be difficult to keep clean between the pebbles. It's pretty textured which helps make it beautiful but that could be a challenge in a kitchen. Also how thick the grout is can flatten the pebbles too. We kept the pebbles sticking out more than the grout because we wanted that texture. If the grout is think you may lose some of the thinner pieces into the grout, showing less of the pebbles. I wish I could send you an up close photo. We have it as an accent tile in our bath.A: I would only use it as an accent not for the full backsplash. I wouldn't want to be scrubbing food splatters and grease off it.A: I believe so, I have it in my shower in a few places and I LOVE It! Unfortunately, I don't see a spot I can post a picture, but it's as beautiful as the sample... but better!A: I used it as a backslash in my bathroom and it is lovely. But it is a very thin tile. Not the usual thickness. My tile man had to use more than one coat of grout because of a few pit holes between the pearls. I couldn't use a border or trim because it is free form. But it didn't need it. -
Q: Can this tile be used for a powder room floor?
A: Yes, absolutely. -
Q: Is this tile good for a shower floor?
A: I would not recommend using this on a shower floor. This tile should not be submerged in water as that would cause it to discolor and darken over time.

Perfect
We were looking for a tile to put on our knee wall on kitchen island. This was perfect. It was thin and easy to install. The final look was perfect.
